The Circuit Bouldering Gym NE

  • Commercial Construction

Completed in December 2010, this project is a great example of what happens when young, active, creative individuals put their minds and bodies together to create a space for an activity we are all passionate about. The Circuit Bouldering Gym NE is in a 15,000 square foot warehouse facility in Portland, OR, and we used every inch possible to create 5 first-rate indoor boulders that challenge and entertain climbers of all ages and abilities. This is a beautifyl example of utilizing recycled materials--steel framing (inherently recycled), all the boulders' plywood sheathing is reclaimed, most of the dimensional lumber is reclaimed from our demolition of the previous space, all of the indoor and outdoor handrails are salvaged steel sprinkler pipe, all the benches are made of recycled materials (like the giant compressor tank on the back patio that was sliced open to create two truly unique benches), planter boxes from a patchwork of plywood scraps, and the list just goes on and on. This was a very unique project indeed!
